Farewell and Festivities

As November drew to a close, the School of Hope wrapped up for the year, but not without a flourish of activities and heartfelt farewells.

The final day of our vacation school was filled with proud presentations from our students, showcasing what they had learned and created over the past month. From delicious dishes they had mastered in cooking workshops to lively dances and beautifully crafted art pieces, our students' talents were on full display.
The atmosphere was festive and joyful, with students enjoying tamales and punch, surrounded by Christmas carols and cheerful decorations. The excitement peaked with the breaking of piñatas, adding some extra sweetness to the celebrations.
However, the day was also tinged with a bit of sadness as we bid farewell to Sara Miller, our beloved Project Director. As Sara transitions to her new role as our first full-time US Executive Director, the school community gathered to express their gratitude and affection. Students and staff prepared heartfelt posters and shared warm hugs, showing Sara just how much she will be missed. It was a bittersweet moment, filled with gratitude for Sara’s dedication and the impact she’s had at the school.
